Why We Have Loved Living in Unit 1 Karingal on Ernest Street.

Karingal means “Happy Camp” or “Happy Home”. It was the name taken from a sign on the original house that existed here. The sign will soon be displayed in the downstairs foyer. Ernest St is known as one of Woody Point’s best streets.

We are so fortunate to be tucked away at the back of the building amongst the birds and the trees avoiding the strong winds but always enjoying the sea breezes especially in summer. In winter we sit on our outdoor lounge and enjoy coffee as we warm our bodies in the beautiful northern sunshine. It’s a perfect place to read a book!

Our large wrap around veranda makes us feel like we are living in a Queenslander. We have a huge outdoor lounge and dining area as well as very spacious light filled indoor living spaces. We have enjoyed several large family gatherings on our private veranda and the large double glass doors allow for ease of movement with large groups of people. We can also see the sunrise AND sunset sky.

It is so quiet here. Apart from being away from any street noise the floors were built with extra soundproofing and we never hear anything from the unit above us.

As far as lifestyle goes we walk to the beach and along the Esplanade twice a day every day. We have fantastic Fish and Chips down the road when we don’t feel like cooking. We walk to Sunny’s at the Sebel for a fantastic meal, happy hour or Trivia Tuesdays and the walk home under the evening stars is bliss. We walk to Woody Point for our morning coffee, to watch the fisherman on the jetty or to watch sunset and enjoy a drink at the Belvedere Hotel. In fact just walking around the beautiful wide tree lined streets looking at all the different houses is fun too.

As we are one of only 9 owner occupied units we have become part of this wonderful Karingal community. Everyone is so friendly and is there to help if you are in need. We have made some wonderful friends here and will continue to visit for sure.

We are very sad to be leaving this lovely unit but a house renovation is calling us and our creative juices are flowing. We know whoever purchases unit 1 in Karingal will love it as much as we do!!
